This summer, the impacts of the climate crisis have hit close to home for millions across the country. Record-setting wildfires in the western United States. Back-to-back hurricanes and tropical storms in the Gulf and Atlantic. A devastating windstorm in the Midwest. Yet, President Trump is not just denying the problem. He has spent the last four years fanning the flames, harming public health, and threatening the environment at every single turn.
This includes trying to dismantle the Environmental Protection Agency, and weakening protections against health-harming pollution -- even in the middle of a respiratory pandemic. Instead of embracing the tremendous potential of clean energy, he opened up public lands to more destructive oil and gas drilling.
What else would you expect from a President who put an oil and gas lobbyist at the head of EPA, and another corporate lobbyist to oversee America’s public lands?
Americans cannot afford another four years of this. It’s time to elect leaders who will fight for a better future. It’s time to create a pro-climate, pro-environment, pro-people majority in the Senate that will get the country moving in a better direction.
