of 2020, and simply put, Republicans can't afford to lose this
one.

If my liberal opponent wins this race, national Democrats will
frame the outcome as a referendum on President Trump - a
narrative I wouldn't be able to stomach being borne out of my
inability to win this race.

Democrats are pulling out all of the stops attempting to fool
voters and turn them against me in the final stretch of the race.


My opponent and his allies have launched some of the nastiest,
most dishonest personal attacks I've ever seen in politics - even
going so far as falsely calling me a racist and white
supremacist.

I'm a grown man and I knew what Nancy Pelosi and Washington
Democrats were capable of when I signed up to run. But the lies
they are telling about me have really hit hard - and I've got to
be able to fight back in the final few days of this race.

With less than a week to go, our biggest challenge right now is
simple: My opponent and his allies are spending considerably more
money running their scurrilous attack ads than I'm able to spend
getting my positive message out to voters.

It costs a small fortune to run TV ads in Charlotte - $1,000 for
one spot during the morning news, $2,000 for 6 o'clock news and
$1,500 for the 11 o'clock news. Just to run a single day of cable
television costs my campaign over $5,000.
