As I stopped by the Supreme Court of the United States yesterday to honor the life and legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, congressional Republicans were lining up to back Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump's power play.

The hastiness of this nomination, with only 40 days to go until Election Day, not only devalues the court, but actively endangers the American people.

Republican leadership's willingness to exploit every loophole, attack every truth, and insult common decency has passed the point of no return.
Mitch McConnell blocked President Obama's nomination to the court in 2017, saying that it was too close to the November election. But that was in March - more than seven months before the election!

Now they're going back on their word and abusing their power in an attempt to seize control of the Supreme Court before they lose in November. Help me send Mitch McConnell and my Republican opponent a clear message: we will fight to protect the court and defend the future!
