If you’ve been reading our emails over the past week, you might’ve noticed a shift in our priorities. Traditionally, we’d be focusing on our end-of-quarter fundraising, because usually almost 40% of our online donations come in during this time period.

But in light of recent events, Ro made a strategic call: We dedicated the last week towards raising money for competitive Senate candidates to fight back against McConnell, and join the battle for the soul of our democracy.

That was the right choice. But it’s put us in a precarious position for our own fundraising to reelect Ro in November. Right now, we’re over $15,000 behind our $50,000 EOQ goal. Could you rush a donation to help us close the gap?

When we face fundraising gaps like this, there’s no super PACs or corporate interests to bail out us — nor would we take their help even if offered. This is a grassroots movement, and that’s something that money can’t buy. Only true, progressive advocacy can build it.

It’s also the starkest contrast between Ro and his Trump-supporting opponent. Just this month, we learned about a new super PAC’s entrance into this race in support of the right-wing Republican candidate.

Here’s the problem: If our fundraising looks weak this quarter, that could serve as an impetus for that super PAC to dump even more money into the race against Ro. That’s why we’re asking you to step up: Can you contribute to make sure that doesn’t happen?

Thanks so much for your support,

Team Ro
