Kenya launches guidelines aimed at reshaping how prosecutors decide to press charges
IJM Kenya was on the task force that helped develop the newly adopted protocol — the first of its kind in the history of prosecutions in the country. The Guidelines on the Decision to Charge advises prosecutors on who, how, when, where and why they are to make the decision to charge, and is a promising step towards protecting civilians from baseless charges.
