Last night, I appeared on The Rachel Maddow show to discuss how I’m pushing back against the President raiding $3.6 billion for his vanity wall from crucial military construction projects.

As Chairman of the Readiness Subcommittee within the House Armed Services Committee, I oversee all of the projects President Trump is raiding to fund his wall. He is ripping off money that’s meant to build a new school for students of service members, support Puerto Rico’s recovery efforts from recent natural disasters, combat Russian aggression across Eastern Europe, and much more.

This is a constitutional crisis. Trump is defying the Constitution by ignoring the Congress' power of the purse. I’m pushing back, and I won’t allow the President to behave like a king who can rob the Treasury.
