Team, like many others, I am devastated by the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She may have been small in stature, but she was a titan of jurisprudence and always looked out for the most vulnerable among us.

Justice Ginsburg has left big shoes to fill, which is why this sudden rush to replace her from my Republican colleagues is all the more disheartening. Just two hours after we heard the news of Justice Ginsburg’s passing, they began jockeying to confirm a nominee only six weeks before the election, robbing voters of their chance to make their voices heard on this critical decision.

We must do all we can to prevent President Trump and Senate Republicans from destroying yet another democratic norm on the eve of an election.
