As Congress looks to delay passage of a new federal funding package until after the November elections, the Air Force is warning that even a three-month gap would harm national defense. A short-term continuing resolution would slow the purchase of new battlefield communication aircraft and certain construction projects, while 12-month legislation would cause a bigger dent in military readiness and technology upgrades, the Air Force said.
