Dear John,

This week has been hard.

In the midst of a global pandemic and the ongoing crisis of systemic racism that plagues our country, we’ve lost Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg—a trailblazer who bettered the lives of everyone in this country. The gains that women and people of all gender identities have made across society would not have been possible without Justice Ginsburg and her relentless commitment to equality. On the bench, she was an unwavering voice for equal protection for all under the law and her memory will inspire future generations to fight for a more just world.

RBG’s legacy also serves as a call to action for all of us who believe in a more equal society—especially during a time when our right to economic security, reproductive freedom, and so much more are under attack. We must honor her and work to the best of our abilities to protect the rights of all people, particularly women, people of color, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ people.

That’s why we’re coming together for a (virtual) rally this Friday afternoon to honor Justice Ginsburg’s legacy and galvanize ourselves for the battle to protect it.

We hope you'll join us. <[link removed]>

We Dissent: A Virtual Rally to Honor RBG & Save SCOTUS
Friday, September 25 | 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. ET.

RSVP <[link removed]>

This event will feature activists, influencers, and movement leaders reading excerpts from some of RBG’s most consequential cases and highlighting the impact of her record on gender equality, voting rights, LGBTQ+ equality, and more.

Along with our partners—National Women’s Law Center, In Our Own Voice: National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda, MomsRising, National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, People For the American Way, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Supermajority, TIME’S UP Foundation, and the United State of Women—we know this moment is crucial for our movement. Please gather virtually with us as we draw strength and inspiration from our community and from Justice Ginsburg’s own words. <[link removed]>

Our elected officials should be defending RBG’s legacy—not erasing it. Join us as we demand that they focus on relief and recovery for the people who RBG spent her career protecting. Hope to see you online for the virtual rally tomorrow, September 25, at 4pm EST <[link removed]>.

In solidarity,
