Just days after we lost an icon for justice, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, we were reminded once again how unjust our system truly is when the cops who killed Breonna Taylor were not charged for murdering her in her sleep.

This is an incredibly difficult moment for our country. Which is why it's more important than ever to come together and rededicate ourselves to the fight. Last Saturday, in the immediate aftermath of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg's passing, more than 1,000 WFP supporters joined us for an emergency WFP Assembly — a virtual gathering for Working Families Party supporters to build community and recommit ourselves to the movement.

This Saturday, we'll be joining together once again for the WFP Assembly, and we'll be joined by Rep. Ilhan Omar to discuss all the crises we are currently facing and how we plan to fight back. As we grapple with an ongoing pandemic, economic depression, historic uprisings against racial injustice, record-setting hurricanes and wildfires, the balance of the Supreme Court in jeopardy, and a president who will stop at nothing to remain in power, it’s clear — we have a moral mandate to defeat Donald Trump and all the Republicans in Congress who enable him. But it’s going to take all of us, doing our part, in order to win.

In moments like these, it is easy to feel hopeless. It’s easy to give in to cynicism and throw in the towel. But it’s precisely moments like these — when the odds seem insurmountable — that we must join together in radical solidarity, and recommit ourselves to the fight.

The WFP Assembly is held on the last Sunday of each month. However, in consideration of Yom Kippur, this month the Assembly will be held on Saturday, September 26th.
