This is Congressman Steny Hoyer from Maryland. I wanted to reach out and take a moment to explain why it’s so critical to flip Washington state’s 3rd Congressional district this November and elect Carolyn Long to serve alongside me here in the House.

I became the U.S. House Majority Leader in 2019, after a flood of voters like you brought a Blue Wave to the polls. Not only did we take back the House from GOP control, but we elected the most diverse Congress in American history, including a record number of women leaders.

I stood by Carolyn when she ran for Congress in 2018 and just narrowly lost in this competitive red-to-blue district, and I’m standing by her again because I know she’s exactly the kind of caring and committed leader we could use more of here in Washington, DC.

I had the pleasure of meeting Carolyn face-to-face and speaking with Southwest Washingtonians last cycle when I was driving through the 3rd district and stopped at a campaign house party in Longview along the way. Not only did I get to hear from Carolyn about how she’ll fight for issues like access to affordable health care, high-speed broadband internet access, and good-paying jobs, but I got to hear from about 120 constituents of the district, many of whom were working families looking for someone who will truly fight for them in Congress.

I’m confident that Carolyn will bring long overdue positive change to Southwest Washington by being a representative of the people, not the special interests.
