Last night, President Trump refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses, saying "There won't be a transfer, frankly. There'll be a continuation."
We're collaborating with other groups on a post-election push to get Trump out of the White House. We've called all 50 Secretaries of State and we are cracking the code on how we can do things now (including good advice on the best way to vote) to make it harder for Trump to question the legitimacy of the election later.
As PCCC co-founder Adam Green told The Atlantic's Ron Brownstein, "we will not have asymmetric warfare this time around. We won't have litigation on the left and thuggery and election disruption on the right."
Big pieces of our plan are moving well behind the scenes, and we're looking forward to reporting back more to you soon. (Though we can't share our whole plan since Republicans read these emails too.)
There's a lot more to do, and not a lot of time. So your help is needed now.
Here are two public-facing "bonus" parts of our plan to stop Trump from stealing the election:
- We're partnering with Power The Polls to sign up as many election volunteers as possible. Republicans hope to close down voting stations on the technicality that there aren't enough volunteers, and we won't let them!
- We're working to make "vote early" a cultural norm -- making clear that voting begins within days for millions of people. You can help get this message out by wearing our VOTE EARLY facemasks. Get yours here.
