Major Roadworks
Canal Street gas works - now complete
Major gas works on Canal Street carried out by Cadent have now been completed and the road will be ready to reopen at a minute past midnight on Monday 9 September.
Councillor Adele Williams, Portfolio Holder for Transport, said: “We’re pleased Cadent have been able to finish their works ahead of schedule and with minimal disruption to the public, and we thank them for their efforts and the public for their patience during these works.
“The Canal Street works have hopefully shown people that while there are big changes due to happen in the Southside area over the coming years, we are doing everything possible to manage the roads and diversion routes effectively to keep commuters and visitors moving when coming in to the city. We will continue to do this as Nottingham’s Southside transformation takes shape, so people can still easily come in to the city and enjoy everything it has to offer.”
