Tell the U.S. Senate:
"A vote to confirm a Supreme Court nominee is a vote to take healthcare away from 20 million people. Postpone a vote on a Supreme Court nominee until after the next president is sworn in."

John,
If Senate Republicans succeed at their power play to stack the U.S. Supreme Court, they would have a conservative 6-3 advantage that would be devastating to many of the human needs protections that we rely on each and every day―voting rights, women’s rights, workers’ rights, and of course access to quality affordable health care.
Just one week after Election Day, the Supreme Court is set to hear a lawsuit to overturn the Affordable Care Act. A 6-3 conservative majority will virtually guarantee that the ACA is struck down.
If the ACA is overturned, here's what would happen:
-
20 million people would likely lose healthcare coverage
-
protections for 135 million Americans with pre-existing conditions would disappear.
-
Nearly 12 million seniors will have to pay more for prescription drugs and 2.3 million adult children will be thrown off their parents’ health insurance.
A vote to confirm a Supreme Court justice this year is a vote to take health care away from tens of millions of people.
Click here to write to your U.S. Senators today and demand that they delay a vote on the next Supreme Court nominee until after the next president is sworn in.
Four years ago, when President Obama nominated Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court in March 2016, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and then-Judiciary Chair Senator Chuck Grassley refused to consider the appointment, writing, "Given that we are in the midst of the presidential election process, we believe that the American people should seize the opportunity to weigh in on whom they trust to nominate the next person for a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court."1
It is now painfully clear that McConnell's statements at the time had nothing to do with principle, democracy, or good government practices. It was about power. Pure and simple.
A lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court needs careful consideration, not a rushed, party-line vote.
The Senate must wait until after Inauguration Day to confirm a new Supreme Court justice. Write to your Senators today!
Thank you for all you do during this challenging time to fight for the priorities of vulnerable people throughout our country.
