Give Meals to Families Facing Starvation [link removed] Safa* is a refugee living in an East African country. She left her home in a neighboring country when she was only seven years old. It has not been easy, but she has made a life for herself. Now an adult she and her family have been sustained by meals, provided by faithful partners like you. Safa and her children are pictured above with new blankets that they received with their meals.Growing up in a foreign country that also has economic and political challenges was very tough on a young child like Safa. She got a job at the age of seven as a housemaid for a local family. Her employer provided shelter and food for her as she worked for them.Safa married the watchman of her employer’s home. Her husband is also a refugee from another country. She and her husband eventually moved away from their employer’s residence to raise a family
— four beautiful children. However, they struggled to provide food for their growing family. For the last six years, Safa, her husband, and her children have received meals because of your generosity. They started receiving them when their daughter, Ifrah, was born. The family currently lives in a makeshift hut in an area where many other families in similar situations have settled. Occasionally Safa’s husband is able to get a job painting houses to provide for his family. And for the first time since she was a young housemaid, Safa has found a part-time job to provide income for her family. These meals have sustained Safa and her family throughout the years. Access to a nutritious food source kept them from begging on the streets. The meals have nourished her children and kept them going to school. Safa told our team, “Without this rice, I don’t know how we would have made it.” Today her oldest son is in high school, and her daughter just started first grade. Her sons have
joined the soccer team managed by Unto™ field partners. They have a bright future ahead of them. You can help people like Safa and her family. Every 13 cents you give provides a meal to a hungry child or family and an opportunity to learn about the hope of Jesus!*Name changed for security purposes Donate Now [link removed] Update Preferences (You are receiving this message because you have been in contact with Unto or an affiliate.
