Join bestselling historian Lynne Cheney in conversation about her new book, The Virginia Dynasty, a vivid account focusing on the first four Virginia presidents—George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe. Cheney explores how these friends and rivals led in securing independence, hammering out the U.S. Constitution, and building a working republic. Jeffrey Rosen, president and CEO of the National Constitution Center, moderates.

Copies of The Virginia Dynasty: Four Presidents and the Creation of the American Nation can be purchased using the "Register with Book" button below. Books purchased will be shipped to the address provided at checkout directly following the event (U.S. domestic only).
This Friday: Remembering Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Join us for our free online classes. Part lecture and part lively conversation, they are perfect for life long learners.
In honor of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the National Constitution Center is devoting this Friday’s Scholar Exchange class to her personal story and constitutional legacy. Students of all ages will learn about Justice Ginsburg, the second woman in history to serve as a justice on the Supreme Court, and how she earned the nickname ‘Notorious RBG’ for her strong dissents. In her honor, we will read her dissents and explore her impact on the law by reviewing significant cases such as: Safford Unified School District v. ReddingObergefell v. Hodges, and Bush v. Gore.
