It's the flash floods, for me.
Generation Progress

Hey John,

Wildfires on the West Coast, hurricanes in the South, tornadoes in the Midwest, and flash floods where I live in Washington, DC. These are just a few of the severe weather events and natural disasters we’ve seen worsen this year in the United States.

Climate change is real, and it’s happening now. Climate change is worsening natural disasters like these, which all pose unique threats to each and every community across the country. These issues are becoming more severe as time goes on. We are in a crisis.

Are you worried about how the climate crisis is having an impact on you and your community? How have you seen climate change where you live? Is climate change impacting your day to day life? Let us know at genprogress.org/climatevoter.

Your story about the climate crisis is important.

WHY ARE YOU A CLIMATE VOTER?

People are losing their homes and livelihoods, and parts of the country are increasingly becoming inhabitable for people to live safely. The world’s five hottest years have all happened in the last 5 years, and 2020 is on track to join the ranks. California is currently facing its worst wildfire season on record. This year’s hurricane season is so severe that we are running out of names for the storms.

We want to hear why you’re a climate voter. Our stories are an integral part of this movement, and have the power to influence others.

After you share your story, encourage 5 of your friends to do the same.
