John, My name is Jenna Wadsworth, and I'm your candidate for North Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture. This is the election of our lives — climate change, social justice, small farm preservation, food insecurity, and so many of the important issues that are central to my platform are on the ballot. I am proud to have the endorsement of the North Carolina League of Conservation Voters' Conservation PAC. Combating climate change is my number one issue because the reality is we're running out of time. Our state cannot afford four more years of Commissioner Troxler's inaction and complacency. He has taken money from big oil. He has taken money from big energy. He has taken money from factory farms like Smithfields and Mountaire that are denigrating our natural resources without facing any of the consequences. And he has done nothing to protect land, resources, and North Carolinians who are suffering the consequences of climate change and the actions of these groups. Our future is on the ballot this fall. North Carolina needs a leader who isn't beholden to corporations but instead answers to the people. We need a leader who will implement effective policy, create an office within the Department of Agriculture specifically to address climate change, and bring a diverse set of voices to the Department who will work together to create meaningful change. We’re only 40 days away from the election, and I hope you’ll join us in this fight. Every call matters. Every vote matters. We can, and will, build a more sustainable, equitable, and fair future for North Carolinians. Go get out and make some calls, y'all! Jenna Wadsworth |
