From climate change to locust plagues destroying crops this summer, for families in rural Africa, coronavirus is another factor making existing crises worse.

Ruth is part of a Send a Cow project and before lockdown her family was thriving. But with restrictions to movement now in place, families like Ruth’s are unable to get to the market to access seeds and sell their produce. How will she be able to provide for her family?

With lockdown restrictions in place, families like Ruth’s are facing severe hunger. It doesn’t have to be this way.
 
With support from people like you, families like Ruth’s will be able to access good-quality seeds and learn how to develop kitchen gardens so they can grow plenty to feed themselves.
 
Families like hers will also learn how to preserve food so that their crops can last longer as well as business skills to make face masks and soap so that they can earn an income.
