Texas Values Launches Campaign to Protect Religious Freedom with Save Chick-fil-A Law

This week, we announced the launch of a new state-wide campaign to educate Texans on the Save Chick-fil-A Religious Freedom Law that went into effect on September 1st. At SaveChickfilA.com you can join our effort to spread the word about Texas’ newest religious freedom law that ensures state and local governments can’t punish Texans for simply living out their faith.

The Save Chick-fil-A Religious Freedom Law, SB 1978, passed the Texas Legislature with bipartisan support and was signed into law by Gov. Greg Abbott on June 10, 2019. This law protects more than just Chick-fil-A. It ensures state and local governments do not punish Texans because of their membership or association with a religious organization or church, or because of their donation to a religious organization or church. The goal of this campaign is to educate and empower every Texan with their rights under this new law.

This week, the Daily Signal wrote a piece on the City of Leander’s actions to help stop these hypersexualized events, targeted at young children, from happening at its library. Texas Values members were interviewed for this national story. We encourage you to read and share the piece.

Alison Centofante Joins Program

On the most recent edition of the Texas Values Report, host Jonathan Saenz was joined by Alison Centofante, Director of External Affairs for Live Action – the pro-life organization founded by Lila Rose. Jonathan and Alison discussed the recent news that Planned Parenthood is withdrawing from Title X funding because of the Trump administration's enforcement of rules that forbid organizations that provide or refer patients for abortion from receiving Title X funds. You can listen to a podcast of the program here or watch the video here.
