In less than three months, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge could be
DESTROYED, John.

The U.S. Department of the Interior is finalizing a 40-year-long drilling
initiative in northeast Alaska, giving greedy Big Oil the chance to decimate
nearly 1.6 million-acres of pristin e coastal plain with drilling – practices we know can lead to toxic oil spills, disrupt wildlife habitats and
cause dangerous levels of air and water pollution. W e need to act immediately .

This fight is just as much about social justice as it is about environmental
justice: Indigenous communities like the Gwich'in and Inupiaq who have long
relied on the precious wild natural resources the refuge provides could lose
their way of life. And with less than 10 years left to prevent climate
catastrophe due to activities like drilling, whatever we do now will decide the
fate of our only Earth.
