Tomorrow night, Peter and I are hosting a conversation about the Supreme Court with Robbie Kaplan -- the lawyer who fought against the Defense of Marriage Act (and won!) and helped pave the way for full marriage equality nationwide just two years later.

Plain and simple, the Supreme Court has had a profound impact on my life and the lives of millions of Americans. My parents own and operate their own small business, and without protections for pre-existing conditions, my mom wouldn’t have access to the life-saving cancer treatments she relies on. And of course, my marriage to Peter is able to exist because of the grace of a single vote on the Supreme Court. The decisions made by the court are personal for many of us.
