Yes, there’s a massive victory to be won in defeating Donald Trump and his anti-science, anti-environment agenda. But it’s also about electing excellent, pro-environment leaders running across California, from the top to the bottom of the ballot.
Because, let’s repeat it: change starts with US!

Here in California, CLCV is heavily supporting a lot of critical legislation. And while many of those bills concern the environment directly, quite a few focus on voting, and protecting that right for each and every one of us.
Here’s an example. Assemblyman Marc Berman and others put together a landmark plan to ensure every voter in every California county has access to vote-by-mail. While this is especially vital during a pandemic, it’s just smart policy: a better democracy is an inclusive one.
And, as it turns out, when more people are involved and voting, we elect more pro-environment leaders.
The first step really is that straightforward.
Yesterday, on National Voter Registration Day, we kicked our voter registration effort into high gear. And as we count down to Election Day, CLCV will be working harder than ever to make sure our movement grows and that we show up on November 3 to demand the green future we deserve.
