Dear friend,
When President Obama nominated Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court four years ago, Mitch McConnell did not allow the Senate to even have hearings on his nomination. He said that the voters should have a say in who the next Supreme Court Justice was.
That declaration was made 270 days before the 2016 Presidential Election. Now, just 41 days before the 2020 Presidential Election, he's completely abandoning his own precedent.
President Trump just said he'll announce his Supreme Court nominee on Saturday and McConnell plans to rush through the confirmation process. National Republicans are lining up their support before even knowing who the nominee is.
It's clearer than ever that we need to flip the Senate and keep our House majority. I promise I'll always be an honest advocate for working families, but right now we're facing down a huge FEC deadline while outside groups are spending millions in dark money to attack me.
Send a strong message to President Trump and national Republicans that you're tired of their games.
