CCL featured in Grist article about political state of carbon pricing

Citizens' Climate Lobby was prominently featured in an article posted on
Grist today about where things stand politically for carbon pricing.

Tamara Staton, CCL regional coordinator for the Greater Pacific
Northwest, shared her thoughts about her first lobbying experience in
2013:

"I was walking from the House side to the Senate side, in front of the
Capitol, and I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, this is what democracy is. Our
representatives, listening to what I care about.'"

The Grist piece offers a clear-eyed assessment of where carbon pricing
stands in Congress, noting there has been a shift on the left toward a
comprehensive package like the Green New Deal. Despite this shift, the
article, alluding to CCL's role, says, "There are still those on Capitol
Hill who still believe bipartisan climate action is in our future — and
that taxing or capping carbon could be the solution."

Lobbying: Videos from virtual meetings

Check out this cool video

we made from a recent lobby meeting volunteers had. Lots of chapters are
having great virtual meetings with their members of Congress, and CCL
staff can turn that footage into compelling videos like this, which can
encourage members of Congress to keep speaking out on climate.

CCL volunteers are regularly activating the " five levers

" of political will in their communities. Head to our lobbying forum to
tell us about the virtual meetings you've had, and maybe we can make a
video about your MOC.
