This is about American lives.

Last Friday, we lost an American hero. Ruth Bader Ginsburg changed our country with her intellect and vision and fierce belief that our nation must live up to its founding ideals, and we will live with the blessings of her legacy for decades to come. My granddaughters can dream big dreams -- and will have the legal freedom to pursue them -- in no small part because of Justice Ginsburg.

There is so much in her life to celebrate, and it is shameful that we cannot properly mourn and honor Justice Ginsburg’s legacy because of Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. McConnell has made it clear: he will stop at nothing to rush through his and President Trump’s next corporate judge.

Voters in Ohio and across the country are already casting ballots, right now. Their votes should matter and they should have a say in who will serve them on the Supreme Court for decades to come.

We must not fill the Supreme Court vacancy until the American people make their voices heard in the upcoming election. If you agree, add your name to mine.

This is about what’s at stake for Americans' lives.

The Supreme Court will make decisions that will affect Americans’ health care, workplace safety, reproductive freedom, and civil rights.

President Trump and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have done nothing to provide desperately needed relief for millions of Americans who have lost loved ones or lost their jobs or lost their family business because of their failures to control the pandemic. Now, they are willing to move heaven and earth to fill a Supreme Court vacancy for a right-wing ally who will side with corporations and their special-interest agenda over workers -- all before Americans even have a chance to make their voices heard in the election.

Add your name if you believe we must wait until after the election to confirm a new Supreme Court justice.
