John,

We’ve been hearing that Republicans believe they have a chance to pull off an upset in our race, and now we know why.

A new poll suggests this race is a lot tighter than anyone thought, with our Republican opponent down by just 2.2%.

If the other side believes the race is that close, they’re about to spend a lot of money attacking Marie. We need to be ready to fight back. Will you make a donation before our end-of-quarter FEC deadline and make sure IL-03 stays blue:

Now, no one is panicking. There are reasons to be suspicious of these numbers -- for one, it’s a poll conducted by Republicans for Republicans. No one on our campaign is taking anything for granted, and we never have.

But one thing is clear: If anyone out there thought this race was in the bag and we could all coast to Election Day, they should think again.

There’s so much at stake in this election, John. From expanding access to health care to securing reproductive rights to making real investments in green jobs -- all of it is on the ballot this year. And on top of all of it, our opponent is another vote for Trump’s hate-filled agenda.

We need to do everything we can to elect Marie, and that means ensuring we hit every single fundraising goal from here on out.

Chip in before the last big quarterly FEC deadline of this campaign, and let’s make sure we send a progressive champion to the U.S. House:
