RBG played a critical role in the Supreme Court’s very first ruling on climate change in Massachusetts v. EPA, which gave the EPA the authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions -- paving the way for President Obama to enact federal regulations on carbon pollution for the first time in history and giving states and environmentalists standing in court to sue over climate change.

But with Mitch McConnell preparing to fill her seat with a far-right Trump nominee, we may lose our ability to challenge this administration’s dismantling of environmental regulations in court.

If the courts become a partisan arm for the GOP to advance its agenda of climate denialism, it will be more important than ever to elect Democratic lawmakers who will take action to confront the threat of global warming.
