John
What are you doing on Friday the 20th of September? Millions of people will be striking around the world to demand climate justice from their governments. If enough of us take a stand, our government won't be able to ignore us.
Strikes are happening all over the UK as part of the Global Climate Strike, so there's almost certainly one near you.

Why now? Over the last year students have been striking from school to bring attention to the Climate Emergency. Now, for the first time, they are asking people of all ages to join them.
Time is running out. As the climate crisis takes hold, our planet is literally burning. This summer, heatwaves have affected millions of people and unprecedented wildfires have swept across the Amazon - threatening lives and destroying the very forests that protect us against climate change.
The fires and heatwaves are an alarm call for our leaders to take urgent action and bring the crisis under control. Brexit might be all he's thinking about, but Boris Johnson has to make this a top priority, and that's why we all need to join the Global Climate Strike on Friday the 20th of September.

We need people of all ages to stand up and demand real action from our government. You can book the whole day off work, join a strike for half an hour or spread the word on social media if you can't join on the day.
There are over 100 events already announced across the UK, and more are being added all the time. If you can't see one near you right now, keep checking.
So far, the government has failed to act. It's time for us to give them no choice.
Let's do this,
Nick Monro aka Dikson
