Of North Carolina’s 13 Congressional Districts, only three are currently held by Democrats. That’s because North Carolina’s Congressional map was one of the most gerrymandered in the entire country until courts struck it down last year and ordered the state to redistrict. As a result, seats that never would have been competitive are suddenly in play, and that includes North Carolina’s 6th Congressional District.

Republicans have held NC-06 for the last 35 years, and the district has never been represented by a woman.
