John,

I'll cut to the chase -- the National Republican Congressional Committee has promoted my Republican opponent Scott Taylor to the final stage of its "Young Guns" program, and I need your help. If you're able to, will you chip in $5 or more to help me defend this seat?

As a former congressman with established connections to GOP party leaders, Taylor is already a prolific fundraiser -- he raised $4 million to fund his campaign in 2018.

And his "Young Gun" status gives him an even bigger leg up in fundraising by signaling to GOP donors that this is a district they can win if they invest enough.

I flipped this seat by just 2.3 points, and outside groups have already pledged to spend another $2.8 million on attack ads against me. I need grassroots supporters like you to stand with me -- will you chip in to make sure I have the resources to fight back?

I'm not backing down,

Elaine
