Hi John,
Our mission at Run for Something is not just to elect young progressives to office -- it's to elect
diverse young progressives.
That's why this Latinx Heritage Month, we are asking you to support 60+ of our Latinx candidates on the ballot this November.
If you're already in, please split a donation right now.
Here's why it is so important to elect young diverse progressives at the state and local level:
Defeating Donald Trump alone won't get us the equitable society we've been working towards.
When Latinx people don't have a seat at the table, we end up with policies that do disproportionate harm to the community -- COVID relief that doesn't address the unique economic and health impacts in the community, an immigration system that is too often cruel and heartless, education policies that leave Latinx kids behind, and more.
We need leaders who reflect their communities. But despite making up 18% of the U.S. population, Latinx people only make up 1.2% of local, state, and federal elected officials.
We can change that by supporting young Latinx progressives running for state and local office right now. Can you split a donation between our 60+ endorsed candidates? Every dollar goes directly to their campaign, so they can put it right to work.
Thanks,
Amanda Litman
