A conservative 6-3 advantage on the Supreme Court would be devastating to many of the protections that we rely on each and every day and the ambitious goals we have for the future.

Economic justice, racial justice, women’s rights, workers’ rights―and then of course healthcare.

One week after Election Day, the Supreme Court is set to rule on a lower court's terrible decision on a lawsuit brought by Republican-led states that would strike down the Affordable Care Act. We can probably overtun this decision if there is a 5 to 4 conservative majority on the court. It would be all but impossible at 6 to 3.

If Republicans are successful in overturning the ACA, 20 million people would likely lose healthcare coverage while protections for 135 million Americans with pre-existing conditions would disappear.[1]

Nearly 12 million seniors will have to pay more for prescription drugs and 2.3 million adult children will be thrown off their parents’ health insurance.

With just 41 days until Election Day, we must demand that the U.S. Senate postpones any hearings and a vote on a Supreme Court nominee until after the next president is sworn in. Write to your Senators today.

The reason the Affordable Care Act is vulnerable is because in the Trump-GOP tax scam passed in December 2017, Republicans repealed the tax penalties in place used to get people to purchase health insurance so everyone was covered. Republicans argue that because that part of the law was struck down, the entire law must go.

Mitch McConnell knows that most Americans don’t agree with him on the tax scam, on GOP attacks to take away peoples’ healthcare and on whether or not to seat Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s replacement before the next president is sworn in.

Republican attempts to ram through Trump’s nominee before the end of the year are a massive power grab by Mitch McConnell and conservatives. Write to your U.S. Senators right now and demand no hearings or votes on filling the U.S. Supreme Court vacancy before the presidential inauguration.
