John,

When Brett Kavanaugh was nominated to the Supreme Court last year, we wrote to you about Roe v. Wade, and the constitutionally protected right to abortion, hanging in the balance. We wrote about how his nomination meant five men could tip the balance of power and undermine decades long precedent.

You gave then. Please give now.

Today, we write because once again a SCOTUS seat is open, but it’s likely a woman will fill it. Trump has stated that he will nominate a woman to fill the seat left open by Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s recent passing. [1]

Let us be crystal clear: women can be full instruments of the patriarchy and we denounce any person, regardless of gender, who campaigns against a person’s right to bodily autonomy.

Donate now to help protect the rights of all people who can become pregnant.

Trump has claimed himself to be the most pro-life president in history and the woman he nominates will likely think similarly.

We say, no one – not five men, not five men and one woman – should be able to build a generations-long majority hostile to abortion rights.

Tell them no.

Sincerely,

Erin Matson and Pamela Merritt
Co-Founders/Co-Directors, Reproaction

P.S. We are gearing up for the fight of our lives to protect abortion. Give now.
