John,
We've got some exciting news -- Black Lives Matter Co-founders Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi have been named to
TIMES' 2020 TIME100 Most Influential People in the World!
This recognition is incredibly humbling --
and each and every one of you that contribute to the multi-pronged strategy to ensure freedom for Black people should be proud. At Black Lives Matter, we stand on the shoulders of our ancestors' work that has helped to guide our path to liberation, justice, and equality. And in honor of National Voter Registration Day 2020, we’re ready to take this fight all the way to the polls.
The world has been watching --
and the world knows that Black lives matter. Those who don't? Well, we'll make it clear to them at the polls that they have no place in public office.
Electoral politics is an important form of protest and is part of our work to change the system.
We know that Black lives won't matter if we don't vote. That's why over the next 41 days, we're going to be doing everything we can to make sure Black communities understand what is at stake in this election and know how to vote. And if you haven't made a plan to vote yet,
you can use this checklist to make one today.

Getting the BREATHE Act signed into law. Ensuring Justice Ginsburg's lasting wish to be replaced after the election is honored. Defunding the police, and funding our communities. This movement was never about recognition, but about Black liberation and freedom. About making our voices heard. About doing all we can to ensure that Black lives matter --
that starts with our work at the polls.
We are charged with continuing to build a movement that brings us all to the front -- and these next few weeks leading up to November 3rd are absolutely critical.
Power to the people -- and power at the polls!
In love and solidarity,
Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation
