There’s a crucial special election for Congress in North Carolina on Tuesday -- and three new polls show the race between Democrat Dan McCready and Republican Dan Bishop is a toss-up.
We can’t let this race be decided by chance, so I’m going to ask you to help Dan McCready get out the vote by making a contribution of $5 or more today, but first let me explain why this race is so important:
Dan McCready is a Marine veteran and entrepreneur.
He rejects corporate PAC money and he has pledged to never take a penny from the NRA. McCready is running a people-centered campaign that’s focused on issues, like affordable healthcare, jobs that pay, and a government that works for everyday Americans.
His opponent, Dan Bishop, has been working on behalf of extreme special interests for more than a decade. He takes corporate PAC money, has an “A” rating from the NRA, and he’s passed laws to legalize discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community in North Carolina.
And Bishop’s campaign is aligned with GOP Super PACs that are spending millions on nasty TV ads attacking McCready.
So, if the wrong Dan wins this election, it will swing momentum back to President Donald Trump, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and the special interests who desperately want to defeat us in 2020.
We can’t let that happen.
