Chad Wolf just finished his Senate confirmation hearing for Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Since President Trump unlawfully named him Acting DHS Secretary, Wolf has led a racist and inhumane agenda that has hurt millions of immigrant children and families and undermined our democracy. Federal agents under his leadership used excessive force against peaceful protesters in Portland. And according to a whistleblower, he ordered his agency to downplay the threats of white supremacists in the US and of election interference from abroad. Please act now to urge your Senators to oppose Wolf’s confirmation.

Headline from USA today: Alleged unwanted hysterectomies and other abuses at ICE facility prompts investigation.

Last week, we were outraged to learn about the horrific allegations that women held at an immigration detention center in Georgia underwent gynecological procedures without fully understanding or consenting to them.1 After one woman came forward with her account, she came within minutes of being deported to a country she hadn’t visited since the age of 2.

And a few months ago, Wolf caused an uproar when he deployed federal agents at the Portland protests with unmarked uniforms and cars.2

These are only a few examples in the long list of abuses committed by the Department of Homeland Security under the active watch of Acting Secretary Chad Wolf.

Friend, TODAY you speak up in solidarity with the victims of these abuses by asking your Senator to oppose the confirmation of Chad Wolf as DHS Secretary of Homeland Security. Please contact your Senator now.

Wolf’s problematic record speaks for itself:

  • Helping develop the administration’s notorious family separation policy.
  • Holding unaccompanied children in hotels along the border before summarily expelling them without due process.
  • Denying safe haven to women seeking asylum because of gender-based violence.
  • Spreading COVID-19 by transferring people between detention facilities and deporting them to countries ill-equipped to receive them.
  • Deploying Customs and Border Protection agents to “dominate” peaceful protests for Black lives, and reportedly downplaying the threat of white supremacist violence while inflating the threat posed by left-wing groups.
  • Reportedly ordering his staff to cease reporting on Russian election interference.

Wolf has proven time and time again that he is not suited for this job. And Oxfam has been fighting his agenda from the start: thousands of your have joined us in standing up against the inhumane conditions in Wolf's immigration detention facilities, and in recent weeks, we sued him on behalf of some of the hundreds of unaccompanied children who have been harmed by his policies.

It is only with your voice and support that we can have a chance to stop Chad Wolf from being permanently appointed as Secretary of Homeland Security. Please take a few minutes to tell the Senate to do the right thing and vote “NO” on his nomination.

Thanks for everything that you continue to do to stand for justice.

In solidarity,
