Coming soon: the Future of Sustainability report
The devastating impact of the COVID-19 crisis continues to underline the fact that we face a decade of discontinuity and uncertainty, with further shocks and systemic disruption ahead. Moments of radical change such as this force us to revisit what we value and to explore how we might reimagine the future.
As we all grapple with 'what next?', now more than ever we need urgent and decisive action at scale and at pace - but where should we focus to drive change?
On 14 October, we will publish our latest Future of Sustainability report, which will reveal five key interconnected dynamic areas already influencing the 2020s and what the implications are for creating a more sustainable future. It will also highlight a number of trajectories forward that we see emerging from COVID-19 and consider how these may play out in the years ahead.
The launch will be marked by two immersive events, moderated by journalist, Jo Confino, and set to feature a number of visionary voices giving their perspective on how we can drive the transformation needed to create a just and sustainable future.

With COVID-19 and the climate crisis further threatening the fashion industry’s dominant business model - currently based on “cheaper, faster, better” production without consideration of the real needs of consumers - circular models will need to be at the heart of the sector’s radical transformation.
Our new report, “Making the leap to circular fashion”, shines a light on the huge untapped potential of fashion manufacturers to contribute to this circular transformation and lays out a three-step approach for brands and retailers to create the networks vital to ensuring long-term success.

Empowering schools and students to transform US school lunches
The need to rebalance American diets is clear and empowering schools and young people to choose tasty, nutritional meals with more diverse protein sources is an important route to change.
Alongside our Future Plates US partners, we’ve created insights and recommendations on how to support students with access to more diverse food choices that benefit their health and the environment, while engaging them as influential change agents. The implications of these insights also reach far beyond school food into other sectors and systems.
