We covered a lot of ground, including our cruel, inhumane immigration system, and why we must defund and abolish ICE.
Let me be clear: ICE is tearing apart families, separating children from their parents, which is one of the most effective means of oppressing entire communities. We’ve been here before: on reservations with Indigenous and native peoples; on the auction block during slavery. The Trump administration is cruelly tearing families apart — and, to them, the cruelty is the point.
I will keep fighting this administration’s cruelty. I will keep highlighting the stories of immigrant families. I will keep pushing to prioritize the reunification of families and guarantee the right to seek asylum. And I will keep fighting to protect immigrant families right here in the 7th District.
But the only way we will accomplish this is if we push for change, together. That’s why I’m focused on building our massive grassroots movement, and why I’m glad I had the chance to talk about the good work that we’re doing on Pod Save America.
