In 2016, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham joined his fellow Republicans in blocking President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Merrick Garland.

But that wasn’t all: He SWORE that he would hold the same stance in the future, even if it meant blocking a future Republican president’s nomination in an election year.
