Earlier this summer, the Trump administration attempted to keep undocumented immigrants out of the official reapportionment numbers that are sent to the states for redistricting, which would mean skewing representation in favor of white and Republican populations at the expense of underserved, majority-minority communities. And give them less of a voice in the Electoral College!

This is unconstitutional -- and this month, a federal court confirmed it.

First, the Trump administration tried adding a citizenship question to the 2020 Census to discourage at-risk minority communities from participating and being counted.

Then, the Trump administration tried to exclude undocumented immigrants from counting during redistricting.

Now, Mitch McConnell is holding back on a bill that would give the Census Bureau the time it needs to complete a safe count during a pandemic.
