Friends, in our education system today, equal is not equal when one group of kids has access to opportunities that another does not, through no fault of their own.

We need a bold commitment to change the structures that reinforce inequality. That's why I released a sweeping new plan yesterday to ensure that every kid can reach their full potential.

In my Administration, we will make a commitment that by 2028, every child, regardless of circumstance, will be at the center of a community offering them a real chance to flourish personally and prosper financially.

When a child is born in America today, what kind of life should they be able to lead?

We need to build a new American Dream, where everyone can reach their full potential regardless of who they are or where they live.

It requires a vision and commitment, that I will make as president, to work across the country to transform our schools and economy to give every kid a real shot at success.

This starts with the establishment of 500 Regional Opportunity Compacts, which will connect the dots between what is taught in schools, what skills local employers need, and how we support students so they can enter the workforce prepared and participate in society as informed citizens.

We're also going to:

Establish free preschool
Support longer school days and years
Establish free community college and debt-free public college
Increase teacher pay and tackle K-12 funding disparities
Lower loan payment caps
And more

It's time to make equal truly equal. I am ready to make sure every kid has access to opportunity. It's time to end the rampant inequality in our education system.
