Spend a year in Washington immersed in health policy with the RWJF Health Policy Fellows program
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
Health Policy Fellows

Every day, health professionals see firsthand the real-world consequences of how policies set by federal lawmakers affect the health of everyone in America. They know that root-cause barriers to good health-such as poverty, discrimination, safe and affordable housing, and jobs that can support a family-can't be fixed in a hospital or clinic. To build a Culture of Health where everyone has a fair and just opportunity for health and well-being, it is crucial for health professionals to help shape our nation's health policy.

RWJF's Health Policy Fellows program is seeking mid-career health professionals, behavioral and social scientists, and others with a background in health and health care who want hands-on health policy and leadership experience.

Fellows reside in Washington, D.C. for 12 months and work in congressional or executive branch offices of their choosing, such as the Department of Health and Human Services or U.S. Senate and House offices and committees. Up to six awards of $165,000 each will be made in 2020. In addition to funding support, Fellows emerge from the program with leadership skills and a powerful professional network.
