Friend,
As I wrote a few days ago, the election isn't over. In Mississippi the Senate election outcome hangs by threads. Democratic challenger Scott Colom currently leads by about 2,000 votes. Right now, Mississippi's convoluted, rickety election process is being tested — and the nation is watching. (Watch this good explainer of the counting process in Mississippi or read this.)
About two dozen other house races have not been called. North Carolina is one of those with — also leaning on very slim outcomes. North Carolina is seeking in-state volunteers for their 100-county canvass monitoring program. Folks can get trained and sign up here. If you're close to North Carolina, they are looking for in-person volunteers. In Mississippi, they need help with phone banks.
(Alaska does not have a ballot curing so we'll keep our eyes on that election if there are needs.)
Mississippi phone banks
Everyone can help Mississippi by showing up to phone banks — there remains a high need for volunteers. Black Voters Matter is hosting phone banks and trainings to help ensure every vote is counted in Mississippi.
There is a need to reach folks on the phones! Trainings TODAY will be:
