Hi team -- it’s Scott Colom, Democratic Senate nominee in Mississippi, with an important update to share.
A handful of votes is all that separates me from Cindy Hyde-Smith in the Mississippi Senate race. The razor-thin margin in this race means it’s still too close to call.
So while Election Day itself may have passed, this race isn’t over -- not until every lawful ballot is counted.
Across the state, Mississippians showed up and showed out. We built a people-powered campaign committed to getting things done for Mississippi families. That’s how we made this a competitive race -- even in a state Trump won by over 22 percentage points just two years ago!
Now winning this seat is within reach.
We are still waiting on outstanding ballots to be counted. Once every lawful vote is counted, I am confident we will win this race.
I will always fight to make sure the will of the voters is protected. Right now, I need everyone to roll up their sleeves and split whatever they can between my campaign and the DSCC to help flip Mississippi and fight for every Senate seat [ [link removed] ]. [ [link removed] ]
I ran for this seat because Cindy Hyde-Smith turned her back on Mississippi families to side with her donors’ agenda time after time. Mississippi deserves a senator who will always put our people and our priorities first: To lower costs, save our hospitals, and bring good jobs home.
I’m so grateful for every Mississippian who has voted for me and every grassroots supporter who gave their time and money to support my campaign.
Now we are on the precipice of electing a Democrat to the U.S. Senate from Mississippi for the first time since 1982.
Mississippians spoke out -- and now we must make sure their lawful votes are counted.
I know we can pull off this historic victory in Mississippi. But we need to have resources right now to ensure the will of the voters is respected.
Our work is FAR from over. A donation of any amount right now will have a huge impact in the fight to flip Mississippi’s Senate seat and secure a strong Senate majority for years to come. So, I humbly ask you to make a split donation to my recount fund and the DSCC. [ [link removed] ]
Together,
Scott
