Dear Friend,
Like you, I'm still shocked, but not surprised, by the election results from earlier this week.
Of the 180-plus state lawmakers in the State Freedom Caucus Network, seven patriots lost their re-election bids on Tuesday. I'm angry they lost through no fault of their own, but because of a national Blue Wave that ran all the way down the ballot in some states.
There was some good news, though, and it highlights the Network's unique structure and mission. We have so many fighters in more than a dozen states that even in a bad election year, we still chalked up real victories.
Wyoming Freedom Caucus founding member Secretary of State Chuck Gray won his race to replace Harriet Hageman in Congress.
Louisiana Freedom Caucus founding member State Sen. Blake Miguez will advance to the Dec. 12 runoff in the open 6th congressional district. He will be the heavy favorite to win.
Both Chuck and Blake will be ready to fight in D.C. in January. |
Montana Freedom Caucus members all won on Tuesday. As we have said for months, they should roughly increase their size by 50%, from 20 current members to perhaps 30, because of their successful primary elections. There was no Blue Wave in Big Sky country.
South Dakota Freedom Caucus member State Rep. Heather Baxter was elected Secretary of State.
And thanks to our state Freedom Caucuses, both West Virginia and South Dakota passed constitutional amendments on Tuesday that require citizenship to vote.
House Freedom Caucus member Byron Donalds will be Florida's next governor. House Freedom Caucus member Barry Moore will be that state's newest U.S. Senator.
After Tuesday's election, the Missouri legislature held its leadership elections. Missouri Freedom Caucus members State Sen. Nick Schroer and State Rep. Darin Chappell were elected Senate Majority Leader and House Majority Leader. Imagine that! It was only a couple of years ago when they were punished by leadership for being too conservative. Now they ARE the leaders in their respective chambers.
Last but not least: because of Darline Graham's failed candidacy, South Carolina will have a Democrat senator for the first time in more than 20 years. But you'd be wrong if you thought the Palmetto State is descending into liberalism. The South Carolina Freedom Caucus is as strong as ever, and the state just elected Mark Burkhold as comptroller. Burkhold campaigned on radical transparency about how the state spends tax dollars. Expect SCFC members to work with him and push DOGE-style audits. And SCFC's biggest antagonist, incoming House Majority Leader Micah Caskey, lost his re-election bid.
So broadly speaking, are we upset about how Tuesday turned out? Absolutely. But your state Freedom Caucuses, and the patriots who belong to them, are only getting started. That's something to cheer about. |
HELP US KEEP BUILDING
Tuesday showed what we already know. The establishment and the Blue Wave can take seats, but they can't stop organized Freedom Caucuses that keep recruiting, keep educating voters, and keep showing up.
Chuck Gray and Blake Miguez are headed to Congress. Heather Baxter is South Dakota's next Secretary of State. Missouri Freedom Caucus members now hold both majority leadership posts. Citizenship-to-vote amendments passed in West Virginia and South Dakota. That progress happens because supporters like you make it possible. |
We'll be back with another update soon. Until then, please be sure to support our efforts so that we can support our State Freedom Caucuses! In Liberty, |
