We weren’t surprised when Mitch McConnell announced his plan to ram through an appointee to fill Justice Ginsburg's Supreme Court seat.

So we also weren’t surprised when Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith fell right in line with her far-right pals like Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, and Chuck Grassley. In fact, she just tweeted out her support of McConnell’s plan:

If only Senator Hyde-Smith cared about health care and passing COVID-19 relief as much as she cared about this .

While Mitch and Cindy plot, coronavirus has put tens of thousands of Mississippians out of work, sickened 100,000, and killed 3,000. More relief is urgently needed. This is serious.

But instead of helping her constituents recover, Senator Hyde-Smith is spending her time supporting Mitch McConnell and his plan to ram through an appointee. Her inaction is hurting her own people.

Plus, come on, we all know that McConnell’s power grab is part of the administration’s plan to rip away affordable health care from millions of Americans. Make no mistake: The GOP wants to “#FillTheSeatNow” in order to repeal the Affordable Care Act and strip protections from people with pre-existing conditions.
