Luckily, you can become a part of the clean air solution by upgrading to the latest in electric lawn mower technology. With the Residential Electric Lawn Mower Rebate Program, replacing your dirty, gas-powered lawn mower doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. South Coast AQMD is now offering discounts for residents of up to $250 with the purchase of a cordless, battery-electric lawn mower. Residents of South Coast AQMD’s four-county jurisdiction are eligible to participate in the program. Participants can purchase a new electric lawn mower online or from an authorized local retailer or dealer. An operable, gasoline powered lawn mower must be scrapped by an approved dismantler before receiving the rebate. Businesses can also receive up to 75% off commercial lawn and garden equipment by replacing both gas and diesel-powered equipment, as part of South Coast AQMD’s Commercial Electric Lawn and Garden Equipment Incentive & Exchange Program. Eligible equipment includes handheld trimmers, chainsaws, pruners, backpack and handheld blowers, as well as ride-on, stand-on, walk-behind and robotic lawn mowers. Businesses, local governments, school districts, colleges and non-profits are open to apply.
