Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death robs vaccine safety advocates of one of their SCOTUS champions. The other is Sonia Sotomayor. In 2015, RBG joined Sotomayor in a withering dissent of Judge Scalia’s historic decision in Bruesewitz v. Wyeth. Scalia and his corporatist brethren interpreted the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 (NCVIA) to shield Big Pharma with full immunity from liability for vaccine injuries. Their decision removed all incentives for pharmaceutical corporations to make vaccines safe, and Americans forfeited their seventh amendment right to jury trial against vaccine companies that harmed them, no matter how negligent.

Employees at Orange, France’s biggest phone company and the tenth largest mobile network operator in the world, are calling for management to stop the rollout of 5G just days before the industry plans to commit billions to their deployment in the country. About 1,000 Orange employees circulated two memos. The most recent memo, argues that 5G will be bad for the environment and unprofitable.

During the initial stages of the pandemic, leading health officials said the shutdown measures were to “flatten the curve” and buy time for hospitals to prepare. More recently, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the NIH’s infectious disease department, said the development of a vaccine is “an absolute necessity” to return to a semblance of previous normality.

Conversations are also brewing about the possibility of making a vaccine mandatory, or at least implementing punitive measures that make it difficult to avoid getting one. Some states are already taking steps in that direction.

“It’s quite clear that the [vaccine] push is going to be extremely hard,” said Mary Holland, the general counsel for Children’s Health Defense. She has fought against the elimination of exemptions for mandatory vaccinations for children, especially those who are medically fragile.

Catholic pro-life leaders say they are seeing some progress in the development of vaccines with the use of ethical animal cell lines instead of cell lines derived from abortions.

A case in point is the decision by Sanofi Pasteur to no longer use an aborted fetal cell line in producing its polio vaccines, a move recently approved by the U.S. Federal Drug Administration.

Over the centuries, the course of respiratory illnesses have been so erratic that in the Middle Ages they were attributed to the influence of planets. They were known as ‘Influenza degli astri’ in Italian – hence the term influenza.

Today, our bewildered Prime Minister and his platoon of inept advisers might as well be using the planets to guide us through this pandemic, so catastrophic and wildly over-the-top are their decisions.

Now we look set to repeat the pattern of what happened six months ago when they first panicked the country into shutting down, except that this time it has been given a fancy title – operation ‘circuit break’.
