U.S. Imposes Sanctions on Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas
Over the past week, as part of an overall United States initiative to heighten economic pressure on Iran as the regime works toward a nuclear weapons capability, the U.S. Treasury Department imposed sanctions on individuals and entities supporting Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas. On Aug. 28, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned two procurement networks that were providing financial support to Iran’s missile proliferation programs. On Tuesday, the State Department imposed sanctions against Iran’s space program following a failed attempt to launch a rocket last week, which the U.S. suspects was an effort to advance its ballistic missile program. On Wednesday, OFAC took action against a large shipping network that is directed and financially
supports the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Quds Force. The Iranian petroleum shipping network moved hundreds of millions of dollars to the Assad regime and Hezbollah.

IDF Publishes Photos Purporting to Expose Hezbollah Precision Missile Factory
The Israel Defense Forces announced on Tuesday that it had identified a facility in southern Lebanon being used by Hezbollah to convert and manufacture precision-guided missiles. The compound located near Nabi Sheet in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon was established several years ago by Iran and Hezbollah for weapons manufacturing, the army said in a statement, which came less than two weeks after a drone attack in Beirut reportedly damaged key components of the project. "The site has a number of complexes designed for the production of engines and warheads of missiles capable of an accuracy of about 10 meters. For missile production, Iran provides unique machines, training to production operators and regularly accompanies the work on site."

Hezbollah Fires Anti-Tank Missiles into Northern Israel
Iran will abandon restrictions on nuclear research and development, including on the advancement of centrifuges used to enrich uranium, as the next step toward reducing its commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal, President Hassan Rouhani said Wednesday. Rouhani made the announcement in a televised address and said the change would go into motion Friday. Under the 2015 nuclear deal, Iran is allowed limited research and development on advanced centrifuges, which accelerate the production of fissile material that can be used to make a nuclear bomb.
